The Inspiration.
BRAD HUMPHREY loved his family and friends as much as he loved the great outdoors. He was happiest when loading his kids into his beat-up Westfalia, heading out to the great unknown, armed with a headlamp, water bottle and peanut butter tortilla. His tight knit group of childhood friends referred to him as Ironside. Brad was the heart and soul of his family and friends. He was the leader who demanded adventure and a can-do attitude. When you met him you couldn’t help it, you were 100% in. He had a heart of gold thumping under his inside out tee shirts and steady feet in the occasional mismatched hiking boot. He was at his best when coaxing terrified groups of loved ones up a mountain, over a ridge and into a lake all before sunrise. He lived by The Humphrey Creed: try your best, never give up, no fussing or whining, finish the job.
He made you better.
He made you believe in yourself when you didn’t think you could make that final switchback or were too scared to take that jump into the ocean. He was loud. He was funny. He fell out of a tree. He built campfires. He made friends out of strangers. He traveled the world. He summited Peaks. He pushed you. He volunteered his time. He was a committed husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a positive force in this world.
The Mission.
Using nature to heal life’s hardships.
2B-RAD is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status. Inspired by the spirit and energy of Brad Humphrey, 2B-RAD partners with like minded organizations who believe in community and the healing power of being active in nature. Whatever the hardship, 2B-RAD’s goal is to help individuals and families participate in outdoor, community based programs like guided hikes, backpacking trips, educational retreats and more. Our time is precious and as we know, life can throw us curve balls. Stress, anxiety, grief and digital noise can feel overwhelming and distract us from what’s truly important. 2B-RAD believes every individual and family deserves the opportunity to explore, grow and challenge themselves in nature with guidance and support.
Meet the team.
An amazing group of family, friends and community members have come together to bring this vision to life.

I am an active outdoor person who enjoys running, camping and visiting National Parks.
I have known Brad almost my entire life. As kids, we were free to explore nature on our own with our group of friends with Brad leading the way. I am thrilled to be part of 2B-RAD and look forward to honoring his spirit.

Brad was a lifelong friend since I moved here from England when I was 4. We shared a love of soccer, travel and outdoor adventure and worked together for over 20 years in construction.
Being on the Board is a perfect way to continue Brad’s legacy by helping people get out there to enjoy what nature has to offer.

Being Brad’s sister-in-law for the past 21 years let me enjoy and participate in the outdoor adventures he led. He pushed me to the top of many peaks while making me belly laugh. I am proud to be his sister-in-law and I look forward to honoring his passion for the great outdoors, and always looking forward to the next adventure.

I feel most connected to my Dad when I am in the ocean, hiking, rock climbing and being active in nature. I ran a successful fundraising campaign in honor of my dad in 2020 and I am excited to bring the same enthusiasm and energy to 2B-RAD. I’m grateful for the opportunity to develop and build my skill set as a board member, while actively keeping my Dad’s legacy alive and helping people get outside.

My Dad is my biggest inspiration. He cultivated my passion for the outdoors, soccer, and family. It is a tremendous honor to serve as President and Board Director for 2B-RAD and I am looking forward to putting the skills I have learned in college to work. I am proud to carry on my Dad’s legacy.
